The National Association of Railway Business Women (NARBW) has elected Melanie Bennett McKim as its 40th President.
Mrs. McKim has worked for Amtrak for 28 plus years and is currently its Senior Business System Specialist for the Southern Region. Melanie started her career as a Statistical Clerk and has worked many positions in the TCU before moving into a supervisory role and then into Management. She spent the first 21 years with Amtrak at the Beech Grove Maintenance Facility, before moving to Central Florida. Her home base is currently at the Amtrak Auto Train Mechanical Offices.
Melanie has been on the NARBW National Board for twelve years holding such positions as Convention Chairman, District Director, Welfare Chairman, Scholarship Chair, 2nd Vice President, and 3rd Vice President.
NARBW has 16 chapters nationwide. The Association aims to raise interest, particularly among women, in the rail industry; foster cooperation and understanding within the industry; improve the industry’s public relations; and further members’ educational, social and professional interests.
Melanie lives in Debary, Florida.
